Democrat tactics – can’t run on record; must use smear campaign

It seems to be more and more widely recognized that the Democrat tactics do not include anything positive. The reason for this is that there is very little positive to run on. Now we have confirmation from a blog post today on www.politico.com from Mary Frances Berry, Professor of American Social Thought and History, U. Penn.:

Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

You can see this post for yourself at Mary Frances Berry’s quote on Politico.

Such an admission is tantamount to confessing that your party is at a loss for real solutions and a real program. And that the Tea Party has grabbed the “Momentum.”

It also points out that the Tea Party movement has to counter by refusing to get bogged down in such diversion that is the goal of this tactic.
