The liberal media says the law-breaking anarchists who are terrorizing New York are simply a “progressive” version of the Tea Party.
Kind of like calling Gaddafi a Libyan version of Gandhi, Iran an Islamic version of America, North Korea a communist version of South Korea, California a progressive version of Texas, etc.
This kind of thinking only makes sense in the general context of a thought process that says “evil is just a dark version of good.” Yes, all of the above are true in a way, but the whole thing rests on what you mean by “version.”
Clearly the Progressive “version” contracts with the Conservation “version” on the following dimensions. among others:
- lawless verses law-abiding
- tear down our culture verses strengthen out culture
- hatred for our way of life verses championing of the moral backbone of our nation
- contempt for individual rights verse respect for the individual
So in fact “progressive version” is simply yet another sound bite of the ignorant who will not understand.
