Shutdown is not a shutdown – it is contempt of Congress

Each side blames the other for the “shutdown”. What is a shutdown?

A shutdown is supposedly what happens when you are forced to stop spending money on government functions. But we see the Democrat leadership is not shutting down functions. In many cases in fact, they are expanding functions. Thus they are not stopping spending, but actually increasing spending.

Examples abound of increasing costs in order to increase the pain to the public. This is not a shutdown. Closing parks requires more work, not less. So in supposedly implementing a shutdown, in fact the government is increasing expense.

The objective is clear – ignore the shutdown, and spend as much as possible to cause pain to the citizens, and call it a shutdown. The Executive branch is likely in contempt of Congress for the way it is acting.

Pitiful.
