What is wrong with economy? Capital is on strike.

Labor has the “right” to strike. Turns out, so does Capital.

It has been well observed that banks will not lend, businesses won’t invest, nor will they hire. Why is this? It is because Capital has decided that the environment is not conducive to a return on investment. So it sits on the sidelines. It goes “on strike,” if you will.

As in Western Europe, there is now a semi-permanent malaise affecting Capital. I say “semi-permanent” because it will stay in place as long as the environment which is “unfair” to Capital stays in place. Thus is it only as permanent as that environment.

What is needed to change the environment? It is pretty obvious that the current choke hold of the big-government, public-sector union dominated political leadership will not change the environment. We will continue to see Capital on strike as long as “unfair to Capital” policies remain in place. That is as long as the following “unfair to Capital” policies are the effective policies of our government:

  • excessive taxation
  • excessive regulation
  • class warfare
  • bailouts
  • government choosing winners and losers
  • public-sector extortion
  • disguised power grabs (aka, Obamacare, cap and trade, etc.)

I think it is obvious that until we have a government that is representative of Conservative principals, Capital is going to remain on strike.
