The Progressive Religion

Believing on faith is accepting something to be true regardless of evidence. Progressive ideals are thus faith-based. Here is a list of such ideals, that have never been shown to benefit society on this Earth:

  • wealth redistribution, as opposed to respect for private property
  • government by authority (“we make up the laws as we go”), as opposed to government by law
  • government dominance as opposed to limited government
  • command economy, as opposed to the free market
  • economic collectivism, as opposed to individual responsibility
  • collective salvation, as opposed to individual salvation

While not really progressive ideals, the following additional attributes have become mixed into the progressive religion:

  • class warfare, as a means of gaining political favor, as opposed to equal opportunity in the pursuit of happiness
  • environmental activism, as opposed to enlightened conservationism
  • hating America: seeing America as the great Satan, or at best as evil, or some more watered-down apologist viewpoint, as opposed to American exceptionalism

Bill Maher defines religion as the “purposeful suspension of critical thinking.” In order to believe in Progressivism, you have to suspend your critical thinking and believe that these ideals somehow will work to improve society, in the face of the evidence that they have never worked anywhere to do so.
